Performance Team

Is your dancer looking for something beyond a weekly class? Are they itching to perform more than once a year? Our performance team may be just what you are looking for!

The Abode Dance Academy Performance Team dancers learn discipline, leadership, teamwork, stage presence and showmanship while representing ADA in the Fort Mill area. This brand new community based performance team provides dancers with the opportunity to participate in local community performances throughout the dance season. If your child enjoys performing in front of friends and family regularly, actively seeks opportunities to meet new friends, eager to showcase skills learned in class, proven to be dedicated to growing from each experience and overall wanting to share the beauty of dance to OUR community…
then the ADA Performance Team is for them!

The ADA Performance Team program provides dancers with solid technical foundations in dance as well as prepares them for a career in dance, dance teams, and theatre performing arts all while educating them in the artistry of dance. The performance team provides a flexible dance environment and accommodates the exploration of additional outside interests. It is also suitable for the dancer who wants to focus on the art of dance by offering performance opportunities and the option to take as many classes as your schedule allows. Our performance team dances alongside our competition teams at local community events and our integrated classes allow competition dancers and performance team dancers to learn alongside one another in their technique classes. The ADA Performance Team is perfect for dancers ages 4+. Performance teams will be split into two groups, ages 4-9 and ages 10 and up (if the amount of dancers permits).

ADA PERFORMANCE TEAM REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SEASON

 

1. Rehearsals

• Bi-Weekly Friday rehearsals throughout the 2023-2024 dance season (October – May)
• 1 Saturday rehearsal per month (October – May)
• 2 Christmas Parade Rehearsals (2 Thursdays in December)
• 1 Recital rehearsal

 

2. Classes

• Dancers are required to take 1 (one) of the following classes; twirl, jazz, ballet, lyrical/contemporary, hip hop, or musical theatre.
• We recommend dancers take more than one class
  1. Other classes ADA offers are hip hop, lyrical, ballet, jazz, acro, tap, musical theatre, etc. are strongly encouraged

 

3. Performances/Events (Including but not limited to):

• Fort Mill Fall Festival (October)
• Fort Mill Christmas Parade (December) MANDATORY
• Retirement home performances
• Festivals
• Fairs
• Other parades
• Recital – June 2024

 

4. Attendance: 

Attendance is an important part of maintaining a strong performance team. Dancers are permitted to miss 4 (four) performance team rehearsals throughout the 2023-2024 dance season. 

 

5. Cost: 

Monthly tuition for classes (see tuition table) plus an ADDITIONAL monthly fee of $45.00. This $45.00 fee per month covers the cost of all performance team rehearsals, performance team costumes/costume rental. Shoes must be purchased separately.
