Born and raised in Hickory, NC, Savannah began dancing at the age of 3 at Ann Freeman Dance Academy. Over the years, Savannah has studied in various styles of dance such as, Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Modern, and Hip Hop. From age 10, she competed with the AFDA competition team, traveling locally and nationally, as well as attended many conventions including Carolina Dance Masters and Dance Masters of America. During her summers, she studied with the Student Honors Intensive Program at the University at Buffalo in New York and has worked with artists such as, Tom Ralabate, Noelle Marsh, and Anne Beck.
In 2015,Savannah decided to become a third-generation Mountaineer and pursue dance at West Virginia University with a minor study in psychology. She has choreographed and performed in many collegiate showcases hosted by the WVU Dance Program while also performing on the WVU Hip Hop Dance Team. She has noted tap and contemporary to be her favorite styles. She has also been fortunate to work with former Tap Dogs dancer, Matt Saffron, as well as Doug Varone of Doug Varone Dance Company. Savannah also toured and studied dance abroad in Antigua and Guatemala City, Guatemala. Performing works choreographed by WVU Dance faculty while also studying cultural movement and class training. Savannah is happy to be a part of Abode Dance Academy to teach and share her love of dance for new generations to come.
